Natural copolymer based mainly on the 2 disaccharides: [4)-(β-D-glucopyranosyluronic acid)-(1→3)-[2-(acetylamino)-2-deoxy-β-D-galactopyranosyl 4-sulfate]-(1→] and [4)-(β-D-glucopyranosyluronic acid)-(1→3)-[2-(acetylamino)-2-complete hydrolysis it liberates D-galactosamine, D-glucuronic acid, acetic acid and sulfuric acid. Molecular weight is generally 20 000~50 000 Dalton.
